Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
The fantasy novel We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz In the Voulhire series, it is the first novel. Galen Bray is introduced to the readers by the author. Galen Bray was from the land of the princes, where he had spent the previous twenty years surrounded by conflict and danger. When he learns that his uncle has given him his inheritance, his life is completely changed. His uncle owned a steel forge in the Magnum Caelum, which he inherited. Galen decided to leave his homeland in search of a better life in the Voulhire kingdom. Magnum Caelum's inhabitants appeared to be amicable, which made life there seem different from that in his homeland. There was a reputation for wealth and success in Voulhire. There were those people who appeared to disagree with everything that was regarded as conventional wisdom. That is where the Voulhire kingdom's problems started.
I appreciated that the author provided a map for the readers' convenience in the book. Since I didn't get distracted, the map made it easier for me to follow the plot and kept me rooted in the book. The author provided the map's size and place names. On the book's back, the author included a reference section for readers, which I found to be very helpful in expanding my understanding of the foreign, complex concepts used in the book. A character with their name in the title of the book has a heavy load to carry, so when they succeed, I know I'm in for an engaging read with a compelling character who I want to stick with all the way to the conclusion. The characters names appearing in the title is another positive aspect of this book that I really liked.
The fact that some chapters are written from a first-person perspective while others are written from a third-person perspective is what I disliked about the book. In addition, while I had anticipated more action or battle scenes, the book actually focuses more on introducing the characters. However, since this is the first book, I am eager to read other books. Aside from that, it is an interesting book, and I really enjoyed it.
The book was outstanding and captivating. Such a novel has been expertly written. I appreciated the author's thorough elaboration of each character's history. This book has excellent writing. To my knowledge, there were no grammatical errors or mistakes in it. Professional editing was done. As a result, I am rating this book 4 out of 4 stars.
I recommend this book, We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies to individuals who love to read science fiction and fantasy.
