[Following is a volunteer review of "JTs World" by E. Alan Fleischauer.]
JT's World by E. Alan Fleischauer tells the story of the adventurous life of JT Thomas, who decided to make good use of his resources by constructing a huge complex that includes an amusement park with a towering Ferris wheel, a huge new house, a man-made lake, a hotel, restaurant, and bar, a bowling alley, a medical clinic, and a start-up art theater where his daughter, Madeline performs. On the first day, an unexpected event occurs when an employee is killed in a bowling alley. A few hours later, two additional employees are also killed. JT worries that this will make it impossible for the park to open. His daughter encourages him to go on a trip with his ranch workers to unwind. On the way, they encounter bounty hunters searching for a pair of murderers and come across Jessica, a damsel in need. There are other interesting characters in the book too, like the lawyer.
The fact that each character in JT's World received a chapter or portion of a chapter to themselves and that the reader was given background information on each one so that you could even empathize with the evil characters and understand how they came to be the way they are was something I found appealing. The novel was action-packed and the story's plot was well-constructed and well-written. It had just the proper amount of tension. The plot of the book includes murder, mystery, loyalty, romance, and retaliation. JT's universe is highly well-developed, with intricate characters, excellent dialogue, and realistic gun battles that were occasionally gory but that I liked. This book can be read as a standalone.
There was nothing in this book that bothered me. The appropriate amount of crime, drama, romance, and action was all present. It has excellent writing and editing quality.
I give this book a 4 out of 4 Stars rating. This is Alan Fleischauer's second novel, and I'm confident he doesn't let me down. The narrative was intriguing, and the writing and editing were both expertly done.
To readers who like reading action-packed cowboy novels, I'd suggest this book. You won't be dissatisfied with this. I would also suggest it to anybody who likes to read dramatic, suspenseful books. Readers who like romantic suspense and crime thrillers should read. People who appreciate reading works set in western settings ought to look it up as well. The book contains profane words that I do not find offensive.
