[Following is a volunteer review of "Cynthia and Dan" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
Senator Mcbride's security was under Cynthia's command and control, and she ensured that everything in the senator's office remained utterly discreet. Cynthia met Sky after a commotion-causing incident at the Capitol, and in the heat of the moment, they had unprotected intercourse. After that, things started to get worse, and Cynthia's boyfriend, Dan, began to wonder about her whereabouts and why she didn't show up for their scheduled date.
I enjoyed Dorothy May Mercer's Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War for a variety of reasons. First of all, the novel had a fantastic plot and a surprising ending. You could never predict how some events would turn out. I adored how well-developed the characters were in the story and how relatable they were. The author also successfully addresses the important subject of contemporary terrorism. I was thrilled to witness Cynthia and her team wage a fierce cyberwar against terrorism. I think we owe it to future generations to wage a fierce war against terrorism. I also adore this book because of how the author skillfully integrates romance and cybercrime. I found it impossible to put the book down because of the suspense, action, and romance it included. Finally, I appreciate the author's use of R-rated section markings. Readers who do not wish to read the sexual content can skip the R-rated places.
There is one substantial negative aspect that I noted in this book. The characterization of Cynthia is unconvincing. When Cynthia meets Sky, she behaves very differently from the security personnel we thought her to be. She shouldn't recklessly fall for a man she hardly knows, especially considering her line of work and her job as the lead female. Yet, she continued to move forward despite the flashing red lights. This romance between Cynthia and Sky gave the impression that the author hadn't given Cynthia's character much thought. This negative aspect is why I am giving Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War by Dorothy May Mercer three out of four stars.
People who enjoy romance should read this novel, in my opinion. The book combines romance and suspense to excite readers. I believe those interested in technology and cybercrime will enjoy this book. However, due to the sexual content, I wouldn't suggest it to younger readers. Additionally, the novel uses a lot of vulgar words. Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War by Dorothy May Mercer is not a book you should read if you don't want to read books with many profane languages.
While reading this book, I encountered no errors until I finished it. This means that the book was exceptionally well edited. I am always happy whenever I finish reading a book and do not find any errors. It means that the author has invested in ensuring the readers have a seamless reading experience. Therefore, I appreciate Dorothy May Mercer for the effort.
