Review of Reconfigurement
In our days where most of the people not doing the job they really desire. In fact the majority are dissatisfied with their jobs and the money they get paid. Unemployment is a big issue and
worries like: how will be my life after my retirement? How can I manage with a small amount of money that usually government gives to senior citizens? Can I continue my life after all? How can I live a dignity life when will be too old with poor health? E. Alan Fleischauer with his book Reconfigurement a way to write shared his precious knowledge.
Having many years of experience in finances service, understanding the recent changes and the new challenges of our society, he points out "alternative" ways of investment and social security to plan ahead.
It seems to have done an extended research and points out many different factors within 13 chapters such as, taxes, the pros and cons of Group disability insurance policies versus individual disability insurance plan, life and health insurance, websites for free quizzes about carrier assessment (my favourite part).
Possitives for me are: it is highlighted with labels with big letters and graphs to make some point bolder, examples for clarification. Although it has to do with a serious topic, he use humorous speech sometimes which helps not to get bored, if you are not an finance expert. Not forget to mention that it helps a lot the small amount of pages.
As for me, although I am not an American citizen,I find answers relevant to my worries about this issue. I am not native English speaker also, I could say that is a well-written book. The languages it is used is understandable.
The cover page photo is nice and gives an air of refresh closed to the title of the book.
The only negative I found, as a native Greek speaker, is that on the first chapter on page 13 he writes that, "The Greek word krinein means crisis".
That's wrong. The origin of the word crisis is Greek "κρίση" it sounds and means exactly the same as ”crisis” is used in English nowadays. The word "krineir" sounds somehow similar but it means judgement.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 because I find it really helpful. The target group is the age of 40-50's but it can be addressed for younger and older adults if they are seriously consider improving their post-retirement lives. I highly recommend it.
