Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book about planning for the future. It is when one seriously thinks about the future of one's spouse, children, grandchildren, and all those one loves dearly. E Alan Fleischauer brilliantly explains, like a tutor, retirement plans and investment. With interludes of jokes, he unfolds the myths about taxes, medical plans, and life insurance. He asks many thought-provoking questions giving insights into what he believes is a missing piece of the equation. Find out how he knits together his findings of the concept of reconfigurement.

E Alan Fleischauer has vast experience as a financial advisor of more than 20 years, so he takes us through reconfigurement like it is a walk through the park. I like the way he explains that, foremost, we need to talk about income. With no income, it will be tough to implement the concept. If there is income, then there should be a budget to plan for the future. Well explained.

The book gives insights into assessments that are appropriate for reconfigurement. There are several of these assessments including career aptitude. I also like the presentation of retirement plans by E Alan Fleischauer. He dissects the 401(k), which is the most popular one. Reconfigurement lays bare the risks and the best time for the withdrawal of benefits.

Reconfigurement is about reinventing yourself in habits. Certain habits bring frugality. E Alan Fleischauer brings us to investment. My favorites are exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and real estate investment trusts (REITs). He points out that, there are investments where the investor has more or less control over the timing of recognized gains. As a person gets older there is a need for long-term care. That is an eye-opener for the reader.

I am grateful for this book for the wisdom it gave me. All said and done, after a long full life, you have to write a will. He says a will is a document in which you describe how you want your estate to be administered or disbursed among your loved ones. That is reconfigurement for you.

Luckily, I found no issues with Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer. For the editors, I give thumbs up for the job well done. The book was superbly edited. Though I recommend it to the 40 years and above bracket, I would also recommend the book to young adults. You need this earlier in life. The book is full of nuggets for life skills. There are a lot of things to reconfigure! I give Reconfigurement a 4 out of 4 stars rating.
