[Following is a volunteer review of "The House of Spark" by Luminita Laflash.]
The House of Spark by Luminita Laflash is a fictional and Thrilling novel set in Romania during the Communist government. This story revolves around four friends: Jenica, Virginia, Mircea, and Doina. It is a story about love, friendship, mystery solving, betrayal, and government.
Jenica was In a relationship with the loyal and loving girlfriend Virginia, as said in the book. Jenica had planned to take Virginia to a concert at the Athenaeum; they decided to meet at Jenica's favorite statue of Mihai Eminescu. Virginia arrived first at the spot, she waited for Jenica, but he didn't show up. She began to question herself, was he in some trouble? Or Maybe he got stuck in the traffic? What would have been the issue? She tried to calm herself down by reminding herself that Jenica wasn't always on time. So she waited for a while, but there wasn't still any trace of his arrival, so she started becoming restless. She called her close friends. That was the beginning of the search for their friend Jenica. Would they be able to find him? This book would tell and also this book showed how friendships were tested. It was a fantastic read.
I liked this book a lot. I have always loved books about teen love, solving mysteries, and relationships. So this was a perfect one for me. I loved how the book started, the part about a woman wanting to get the president's attention and causing havoc. That character was so dramatic and made it captivating. The storyline was enjoyable, the characters fully developed, and they portrayed different attributes. The title also caught my attention. This book was worth the read, and it wasn't time-consuming. The author did a great job of giving us the impression of life in a communist country.
What I found negative about this book was the arrangement. It made it look tiny, and one had to zoom often to see clearly. Apart from that, there was nothing I disliked again. This book was so engaging that It kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't stop reading soon after I started.
I am rating this book four out of four stars because it was a fantastic read. This book was professionally edited. However, I found some grammatical errors. I only saw a borderline profane word. I recommend this book to lovers of thrilling stories, love, and government oppression. I also recommend this book to teenagers and adults. This book is exciting.
