Financial literacy books are what we rely on when it comes to all matters of wealth building since the subject isn’t taught in our education system. Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book whose main message is to plan. It highlights the changes that have occurred in recent years and points out how our strategies toward retirement planning have not. The author gives relevant examples when making a point so it is easy to understand and remember. The book points out that reconfigurement can occur at any age. The author reveals that a majority of people hate their current job and are constantly looking for avenues to which they can change their job.

The book informs the readers on various insurance policies they can take up to cushion them from unforeseen future circumstances that they might find themselves in. the author further dives into the various insurance policies in great depth giving the reader immense knowledge in just a few pages. There is a chapter on budgeting that was insightful, knowing where your money is going is key when it comes to money management and we often don’t realize that our lack of wise spending is one of the reasons why we end up asking ourselves the cliché question “where is my money going?”

What I like most about the book is that it is well researched, hence factual and relevant to our times. The author is an expert in financial management hence it gives the feeling that I am conversing with a financial advisor which enables me to be more open-minded while reading the book and to understand more of the author's teachings. I have honestly learned a lot from this book, especially on how early I need to plan for retirement and not just on the surface level. As someone who has taken on various insurances, it was delightful to read how he simplifies the policies which most of us don’t understand. The book has a touch of humor which made it a delightful read I do not recall an instance in which I was bored.

The book is well-edited and I came across no instances of vulgarity or use of profanity. I hate nothing about this book, it is a must-read for people of all ages.

I will be rating this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is an eye-opening book for all matters of finance. I have learned a lot from it and I believe that it is of great importance for people to read and learn from the author's writings.

I recommend this book to anyone regardless of age who is in need to get their finances straight and is looking for a place to start. Learning is the first step to taking control of your finances instead of having your finances control you.
