The science fiction genre encompasses many possible stories, from magical creatures to surreal characters. This time, they are all characterized by well-marked personalities. We are talking about a world of swordsmen, magicians, kings, and armies. We can see it in the world presented by Matthew Tysz in his book: We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies. This is the first in a series of five books. Each one ruled under the same multiverse in which lies the blissful country of Voulhire.

In the prologue, they give a brief overview of a meaningful situation. They introduce a mysterious man who wishes to enter Hillport Castle. He is looking for Lord Olrin. At that, he finds himself surrounded by soldiers who immediately slide the swords from their sheaths. However, this man seemed to use overpowered magic. It was so astonishing that the soldiers had refused to imprison him immediately. It is a pretty catchy scene, and that’s just the prologue!

Subsequently, different characters and their contexts are introduced. We meet Galen, a boy from the Land of the Princes. Greed for more power plunged the territory of his four sons into war. As a result, the Land of the Princes became a poor and impecunious territory. This forced Galen to look for a way out. Stumbling upon an opportunity, he made his way to Magnum Caelum, a district in Voulhire. His executed uncle had left him wealth in that place, so he could possibly lead a life there. However, after arriving, he has to come across mysterious facts that will lead him to make complicated decisions. There is where the whole adventure begins.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a type of book that needs attention. I like the writing style and the ability to describe scenarios accurately. It is a way for the reader to get a better mental picture of the events. The whole world of the book series seems nicely crafted. You can tell that the author took the trouble to structure this universe very well. The characters are highly developed. I like the fact that the plot does not revolve around one person. Most of the characters are involved and have a purpose in the story. I cannot help but mention the detail at the beginning of the book. The author provides a link to more information about the multiverse. It includes politics, cities, and religions.

The book is well-edited, although it lacks another thorough review. I could find some errors. Although the story is pretty rich in content, that can be a disadvantage when it comes to attention. In my case, several times, I got confused by the characters' names.

I do recommend this magnificent book. Specifically, I would recommend it to an audience interested in science fiction. Or one interested in complex stories. I give it a rating of four out of four stars. It is due to the effort of the author developing his whole multiverse.
