We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Mathew Tsyz is the first novel in a series collectively known as "We are Voulhire". It is the interesting story of Galen Bray and his journey to find a better life. Following the occurrence of war and other destabilizing societal problems like penury and hunger, the protagonist, Galen Bray, decides against all odds to find a better life. It is common in nations ravaged by war and conflict for people to go in search of safety and greener pastures because no one loves suffering or living in fear.

To achieve his ambition, Galen decides to travel to the land of Voulhire, believing that things will be better there. Already promised the inheritance of his uncle's successful business, he travels with faith, belief, and hope, but his uncle dies before he makes it to the land of Voulhire.
On reaching Voulhire, Galen realizes that they have their own issues over there as well, like corruption. Galen finds out that life isn't easy anywhere. Even the conditions in Voulhire turned out to be better than in the land of Princes. Initially, he does not find it easy at all, but with Rowan's help and humor, things get better. You'll find out if Galen eventually settled well on Voulhire when you read this amazing work.

This wonderful fantasy novel had many wonderful themes worthy of discussion, like moving, love, continuity, loyalty, courage, and others. Movement is one of my favorite themes in this book, and we see it when Galen decides to move in search of a better life. Movement is one of the most important characteristics of humans. When our arms touch fire, we instantly move and withdraw. In the same vein, we need to move when things become unfavorable or when something is troubling us, just like Galen moved away from war and poverty. Today we see people refusing to move away from toxic, abusive, and parasitic relationships, and it is very unhealthy.

The theme of love and continuity comes from the way Galen's uncle decided that he would inherit his business. This shows love and family ties, because if there was no love between the two parties, Galen may not have inherited the business.
Another theme I wish to point out from this work is the theme of courage, because it takes courage to decide to migrate to another place filled with new faces.

The book had a lot of positive aspects, and I loved the way it was written in comprehensive English, and the author even left terminologies to make it easy for the reader. I loved the way the author used a map to create understanding and a sense of familiarity because maps are very important, especially in fantasies, which are set in fictional locations most of the time.

The author's description was so vivid and I loved it because, in fantasies where the reader has to escape reality, the author has to grab him on the shoulders like an eagle and take him to these fictional environments with accurate and clear descriptions.

The book had no negative aspects except the usage of some vulgar words, which might prevent people of certain ages from enjoying this wonderful work. The absence of errors also shows that this book was professionally edited.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because I consider it a beautiful work, beautifully written with nice characterization. I'll recommend it to lovers of good literature, especially fantasy novels.
