[Following is a volunteer review of "Journey to your Summit" by Dave Vetta.]
Journey to your Summit by Dave Vetta is an inspirational and personal development book which discusses the various ways one can achieve financial freedom. The book detailedly explains how to plan for retirement life by making some important decisions which come with different risks and how to effectively manage these risks. Most civil servants live a life that doesn't reflect their true capability despite being well paid. The book also focuses on factors affecting the financial health and power of civil servants and the best way to combat these factors. In addition, one may have the highest educational qualifications in his field yet still be financially illiterate. Life after retirement can be scary if not well planned and there are rules and regulations that can guide one to have a successful financial plan. The book doesn't just talk about the financial aspect alone but also about some real-life principles. These principles will serve as guidance to build a life that will be void of distractions while also experiencing rapid growth mentally and financially.
Journey to your Summit is an educational book. There are a lot of things to learn about financial growth and career development. I like how the author narrated real-life stories in order to drive home his points. This aids a better understanding of what the book is all about. What I also find commendable about the book is the summary and activity pages which the author added at the end of each chapter. These pages not only summarize the key points but the activity part (questions) also provide means by which the readers can do a self-assessment. Mistakes are rare in the book which is proof that the book was exceptionally proofread. I also like how the author conveys his points easily without being ambiguous. This really helps to fasten comprehension.
Journey to your Summit is educative and well-written. Mistakes are rare in the book, and the writing style ensures easy comprehension. Therefore, I find no fault in the book.
I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book is a well-referenced personal development book. The author's real life scenarios were great additions.
I will recommend Journey to your Summit to people who are either struggling financially or couldn't manage their financial life effectively. The book is also suitable for people who are just a little time away from retirement and those that are already retired.
