[Following is a volunteer review of "Reconfigurement" by E. Alan Fleischauer.]
Reconfigurement: Reconfiguring your life at any stage and planning ahead by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book focusing on life after retirement. The book shows what to do in one's prime years of labor so that you don’t become a burden after retirement. Different financial aspects are discussed; these include insurance and other available retirement plans with their benefits. The author talks about the passion that is inside a person and how this can be turned into a long-term retirement plan. Most people lose focus on their lives after retirement due to a lack of planning, and they end up wasting their lifelong savings. This book will show you how to plan for the years after retirement.
I love this book because it shapes the reader's mind to focus on the important things that many people brush off. After working all their prime lives to support other people, most retirees go home empty-handed since they spent all their labor. They end up depending on their children and grandchildren to provide for them. Reconfigurement gives hope for a better life after retirement. This book was an informative tool for me. While reading, I realized that I could nurture my passion for the future as it was an asset. As much as this book is written for the older generation, I believe that it will also benefit those entering the work market so as to prepare for the future.
I did not see much to dislike about the book as it was flowing, and the author tried to make it enjoyable while talking about a serious topic. The book was also a short read, which made it easy to remember the important issues to address before retirement.
I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars because it was written in an understandable language. Though most of it was all finance, the author tried as much as possible to use a language that was understandable to all kinds of readers. This was an informative read. After reading this book, I developed a strategy to help me plan for the future.
I recommend this book to readers who are approaching retirement. Those who are far from retirement will also benefit from this book. The information in the book cuts across as it shows you ways of planning ahead. Although it was said that this book is for those in their 40s and 50s, I believe it is a great resource for all who want to know how to plan ahead.
