[Following is a volunteer review of "Snatched Up to Heaven!" by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul.]
Snatched Up to Heaven! Astounding testimonies of heaven and hell from the mouths of babes by Jemima Paul, Ph.D., and Arvind Paul is a Christian book for kids. The book is about two sisters, Priyanka and Deepika, who shared their dreams of dying and going to heaven and hell with their parents. The book describes heaven as a place of breathtaking beauty, an eternal paradise free from suffering; in those dreams, they repeatedly ask to return to heaven. The book also depicts what hell is like, which was a petrifying experience for the sisters. With scriptures, their parents, who are also the authors, explain their experiences.
This book has a lot of good points. I liked that the book can be used as a Bible study tool for young children or teenagers. It provided scripture readings to support certain aspects of the sisters' dreams and visions. The book was easy to read and understand and was also well-written and professionally edited.
There was nothing about the book that I didn't like. It was inspiring and motivating to see how they used their dreams to spread God's message, as they wanted people to go to heaven and not experience hell. Though a lot of individuals may debate whether heaven and hell exist, this book is an intriguing story about heaven and hell told from the perspective of children.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The authors did an excellent job of depicting their daughters’ experiences in heaven and hell. The cross-references and explanations of biblical points were well done.
Though this book would appeal to most children, I believe it would also be an interesting read for Christians of any age, whether they are deeply committed to their faith or are just beginning. Non-believers may not enjoy this book.
