Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Until I read We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz, I didn't always enjoy reading books about magic and using my imagination in order to be transported into an exciting magical world since I thought they were overly fantastical. This book deals with a variety of topics, including religion, kingdoms, paranormal phenomena, and culture.
Meldorath Delheim, a longtime general under King Wilhelm of Voulhire, is introduced to us in this book. He then made the decision to travel to Hillport and accept a job that was less important than the position of being a General that he was already holding. In the end, he abdicated his position as King Wilhelm's general, seized control, and assumed the position of chief magistrate. After all of that, he made the decision to travel to the castle one night and introduce himself to the populace as the Lord. He started going by the name "Lord Meldorath" at that point. When King Wilhelm learned of this, he sought to have him put to death, thus Meldorath was sent to be executed. He then started to do horrible things, including testing all of his experiments on humans. Eldus is then chosen to serve as the new lord. Whether Lord Eldus will be able to restore Hillport to its original state and whether there will be supporters for him is the question that emerges and makes us excited to read the novel.
I appreciated the author's thorough descriptions of each spectacular scene. As a result, I could use my imagination more freely without having to spend time imagining how each fantastic scene would look. I also appreciated the way the author created the character interaction. He succeeded in making the scenes as captivating as he could. The way the plot evolved overall was incredible. The climax was clear to me, and I thoroughly liked every scene.
Nothing in the book bothered me, but I would have preferred to learn more about Prince Darius so that I could understand how he related to the plot. I only knew that he was the son of King Wilhelm. Additionally, I was interested in learning more about King Wilhelm's spouse. The book was fantastic except from that. There were no grammatical errors that I found in this book therefore, this book was exceptionally edited. Because of all that I've said above, I'd like to give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.
This book's mix in emotions and a thorough development in characterization make this book a splendid piece of writing. I recommend it to people who like to read books that have magic and have many thrilling magical worlds. I really believe that they will enjoy this book and be able to imagine every scenes even after reading the book.
