Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a non-fiction book that highlights the importance of preparing for retirement. The book starts with discussing the issues surrounding the old way of approaching retirement that has long been implemented. Retirement plans do not consider the increase in life expectancy that can lead to retirement funds running out. It also does not consider unexpected expenses that occur during retirement. The book address questions about vacations, wills, and trusts. Reconfigurement further continues to look at career options. It encourages one to take career assessments that can help with determining personalities, strengths, and values. These factors can assist with choosing a suitable career or career change. It also challenges readers to change their perspectives when it comes to insurance. The author requests readers not to ignore insurance. Reconfigurement ensures readers are secure for the future by informing them about issues they might encounter when planning for retirement and provides them with various options for their individual needs.

I like the way the author chose to write the book. E. Alan Fleischauer uses a conversational tone. The author speaks as thought he is sitting across from you and speaking directly to you. As I was reading the book, I could tell that author cares for people’s futures. He does not want people to retire unprepared. A Reader can tell that E. Alan Fleischauer encourages him or her to live life to the fullest and die with no regrets I also like how he took a topic that is difficult to understand and made it easy by explaining it with short stories. Reconfigurement is a guide that can give readers straightforward steps to take to be financially prepared for retirement. The book has been professionally edited. I did not encounter grammatical or punctuation errors while reading the book.

The only thing I did not enjoy in the book, was the jokes. I did not find them funny. The jokes are depended on a person’s preference for humour. Some readers can find the jokes funny, and other readers may not.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is a very engaging book that gives readers the fundamentals of retirement and knowledge into issues they might face. It provides various options available to solve the issues. Reconfigurement urges people to make wise decisions and not gamble with their lives.

I highly recommend this book to both old and young people. Old people can benefit from this book. Reconfigurement can allow them to exchange a miserable life for a fulfilling one. It can give hope to old people who feel like they have failed in their preparation for retirement. The book can inform young people about factors to consider when preparing for retirement and any future career change options.
