A terrorist organization carried out a terrible attack on a Jewish school. They were thought to be Islamist terrorists. However, because the Sunnis were also terrorized, this group would be a specific one. Various forces were used in this case. Lara decided to spy on the Islamist scoundrels during her investigation. Lara, who is in her mid-thirties, was renowned for her sterling qualities and fearlessness when participating in earlier missions. In order to obtain information, she decided to pose as another person and marry the alleged terrorist. She went on her risky operation with her pal Uri, an Israeli Mossad agent.

Devil in False Colors is the third book in Jack Winnick's Lara and Uri series, but it can also be read as a standalone. There are some positive aspects of this book that I took note of, which made me enjoy reading it. First, I was on the edge of my seat throughout every page of this novel because of the suspense. I must say that the suspense kept me hooked on the book the whole time. Second, there was humor in the story. I appreciate the author's ability to make me laugh and smile while reading the book. Third, I adored the relationship that Lara and Uri shared. I particularly loved Lara's lack of concern for Uri's one-eyed appearance. This leads me to how well-developed the characters of this book are. The author develops believable characters who have depth and personality.

In his novel, Jack Winnick combines the contemporary unrest caused by political and religious conflicts in Middle Eastern countries. His portrayal of the story vividly describes the action for the reader, making them feel a part of the story and keeping them on the edge of their seats as they wait to find out what will happen next. One of the features of the author's writing style that I appreciate the most is his attention to detail. Also, I absolutely appreciate how delicately done the love scenes between Lara and Uri are.

This book was free of typographical or grammatical errors. Hence, I will say that it was exceptionally well-edited. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because there was nothing I disliked about it. I don't see any reason to deduct a star from the rating.

In my opinion, adult readers who enjoy thrillers and books that discuss religious terrorism should read this book. I would also recommend Devil in False Colors by Jack Winnick to anyone interested in the religious or political strife in the Middle East and how it affects other nations. However, this book is not appropriate for people who are sensitive to violence or who find crimes inspired by religion unpleasant.
