The reviewer liked the character of Bonnie's friend, Paula, who is talkative and free-spirited. The reviewer also appreciated Bonnie's habit of keeping a journal, which provides sincere and therapeutic entries. The book's characters had a lying attitude, which could be a bad influence on children who read the book.

The book is essentially a collection of stories, with Bonnie and her family linking them together. The stories include Swan Lake, Sugartowne, and Looking Glass World. The reviewer also noted spelling, missing word, and punctuation errors, indicating poor editing.
