Review of Shine a Light

[Following is a volunteer review of "Shine a Light" by Nicky Corcoran.]
Almost every poem includes an explanation of the poetry that came before it. The author discusses the intent behind the aforementioned poems and what she thinks will result from the theme behind them and what she thinks will result from them in these elaborations. I wish other writers would follow suit. I'd want to see this trend. It's one thing to be granted the opportunity to read a poem, but there's nothing quite like learning the author's intentions behind the poetry you're currently reading. One of several poems that promote optimism is "Butterfly." I chose this particular poem since it caught my attention the most.
Over twenty poems by Nicky Corcoran have been included in the anthology, Shine a Light." The author walks us through a number of her real-life events in these poems, ranging from her youth in the 1960s to the present. One thing is clear from her experiences and inspirations: we must collaborate and improve to improve our own lives as well as the world around us. The poem "Adolescence," which we begin with, gives us a glimpse into the poet's perspective on the physical fragility and worries she faced during adolescence. Other poems in the same vein remind us of the various ways life presents us with unexpected difficulties that might be overpowering. Nevertheless, we need to improve by learning from our mistakes.
Overall, the book touched on several current and relatable themes, aroused a variety of feelings, and interestingly offered a special viewpoint on some of the topics. I found the book's content to be enjoyable. In light of this, I give Shine a Light a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. The book will be ideal if these problems are resolved. This book will appeal to readers who like thoughtful poetry.
I did enjoy the book. I didn't spot any errors that affected my reading. The errors I came across were quite intentional to make the book more appealing to readers. Anyone who enjoys motivational poems would certainly like this book. This book is perfect for a pastime.
As you read, you might come face to face with your inner demons—suppressed by deep-seated traumas. Following each poetic muse, the writer expresses her feelings and thoughts on what she was thinking and what inspired her to write each poem. Once you begin this book, you will find it very difficult to put it down. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
