[Following is a volunteer review of "Reconfigurement" by E. Alan Fleischauer.]
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book that guides a person on proper planning and the importance of planning for retirement. As life expectancy is increasing by the day, this book emphasizes the need for planning and includes easy ways to achieve a stress-free retirement. This is a self-motivating book that encourages the reader to start planning for their retirement at an early age. This book also includes other helpful topics such as budgeting, career assessment, insurance, wills and trusts, investment plans, and many more.
My favorite part of this book is that it contains humor, which held my attention and did not make it boring. I liked that it stressed the importance of budgeting because most people have difficulty planning and sticking to their budgets. It showed that with proper budgeting, there is a lot of free money lying around. I learned a lot while reading this book, which changed my mentality about life insurance. I also learned about disability income insurance. I had never heard of the term before, but after reading this book, I discovered the importance of having disability income insurance because it would save a lot of stress in the future. I also liked that he recommended books which will help the reader further explore some of the topics he mentioned. I learned new and helpful things while reading the book.
Though this book is a good read and filled with life-changing topics, I didn't like how it was organized. There were times when I thought I had reached the end of a chapter because of the space at the end, only to find out that it continued on the next page. There were also some financial terms whose meanings I didn't understand, but other than that, I enjoyed the book.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it motivated me to secure and plan a better future. I also liked the part about career testing which I tried out and found helpful. I believe most people are in an era where they are confused about which career path to take. I found only one error while reading this book. This book was professionally well-edited.
I recommend this book to people who need help planning their finances, want to know more about which insurance to take, and want to plan their retirement, which is pretty much every adult. People who are also confused about their career path will find this book helpful.
