Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a self-help book that discusses the idea of planning ahead of the present time. It takes extreme focus on how we should plan for our retirement and creating strategies along with specific action steps to follow the plan. The writer introduced the career and aptitude assessments to help the reader to discover and learn new things about himself to make great decisions. The book is, therefore, divided into thirteen chapters which were broken down to allow easy flow and understanding. The writer explains in detail the reconfigurement planning to its complexity in this book.

The first impression I had about the book was the cover; it gave me a soothing effect. I appreciated how finely designed it was, it called out self-help to me before I could even look at the description of the book. I also loved how the author broke down difficult concepts and made it easier for the reader to comprehend every word.

The book did not exclusively offer me financial insightful information but also some motivations which I found productive to my life in general. For example, the writer mentioned that "no one has the life you lead, life desires and hopes like yours.” From that statement I have learned that we all need to be in charge of our lives, as different as we are, decisions should be made for the betterment of ourselves and the future.

The conversational writing that the writer used made such a rhythm, I felt as if I have attended a remarkable sermon. I love how he chose to write in this style, by making the reader interested and allowing us to respond in our head as we read the book. His style of writing made it easier to follow through; the book was a page-turner. I must say I expected the book to be straight to the serious topic, but the author has been lightening the subject matter by cracking our ribs a bit with mature jokes in between paragraphs. That was absolute creativity. I usually come across self-help books that will just feed you with information but never made me laugh.

I advise the author to use more reliable sources in his research; I felt like he referenced Wikipedia more in the book. I also wished he could have at least given his chapters topics that would have been great, but overall the book was fantastic. There was nothing I did not like about the book, it was a short book but yet the information it carried was golden.

The book was exceptionally edited, I did not come across errors at all nor did the book have profane language. I recommend this book to young people so that when they get to be in adulthood in a working environment, they will know what options are available for them and make wise decisions. People who would like to learn more about planning ahead of their retirement would also appreciate the book. I loved every single thing about this book and for that reason, I give it a straight rating of 5 out of 5.
