It is said that Reconfigurement caters to audience between the ages forty and fifty, but as a thought, responsible individuals who dedicate their time and effort to contribute to the labor force and cover their taxes should definitely give this book a read. E. Alan Fleischauer gave a detailed summary of topics worth mentioning, regarding financial and career planning for the future.

I like the fact that he provided the public with links to test one’s work values and career aptitude assessment, he even went further as to explain the various results he got and how accurate the test was. I was able to understand that these are beneficial to reconfiguring one’s life as it lets you know whether you are on the right career path or planning for your future career. Normally you would think, “oh this book will be boring to read because it talks about finances”, well guess what, it is quite interesting and not in the least boring. There are a few “bad jokes” that make one smile, also the feeling you get from reading it, it is as if you are at a seminar and the author is right there in front of you.

He explained the pros, cons, and the benefits of being a beneficiary; either as a spouse, ex-spouse, incapacitated individuals or a child receiving funds, how each benefit works, the benefit to be claimed according to a person’s age, indicated persons to receive such advantage, requirements to acquire a benefit and so much more simplified information, so easy, anyone can understand.

I have often read many financial and career planning books and was never able to finish because I just didn't have a clue what I was reading, this author did not disappoint, he was able to breakdown important topics for retirement and how to plan for it based on age, disability and the various benefits offered. There was information regarding 401K and investment, in addition, he gave examples and factual data with each topic one might struggle to understand, whether you possess the basic knowledge or more advanced abilities of the topic. After reading this book, I had more insight into the future I hope for and the necessary skills to achieve it.

I had no negative remarks towards this book, I would definitely rate this book 4 out of 5 stars, as it was very well written and edited. For those who are looking into planning ahead financially or questioning their career path, try your luck and patience with this book. I promise, you won’t regret it.
