Looking Glass Friends by E. L. Neve is a romantic story about how two soulmates, who are married to different people and from different backgrounds, come together in the late 1990's. A chance meeting in a bakery, Bake 4U, where Neil works, sparks the interest of Ellie, a customer, when he produces cream puffs from the back, for her, when the front counter was out of stock.

Neil is experiencing a dark period in his life and questions the purpose of it. Ellie decides to buy Neil one of her favorite books, Atlas Shrugged, to thank him and it changes his life and the way he perceives it. He writes her a thank you note and from there the connection of their souls begins.

Both Neil and Ellie are living in marriages that should never have been. Neil is married to Fay, a glassblower, to whom he really has no connection to and doesn't share any interests so he hides himself away after work. He plays video games in a room instead of sharing time with his wife. Ellie is married to Jake who is a rich narcissist. They share a little 5 year old boy named Johnny. Jake also does not have any interests in things that his wife is interested in, only, it is her who hides away in her library. She has not had any interest in sharing her husband's bed in over a year as she feels strange towards him whenever he approaches the subject. She is confused as to her feelings towards him and wonders if it is her fault or Jakes for the way she feels.

Looking Glass Friends by E. L. Neve was a book that I loved and read in one day as I couldn't put it down wanting to know what comes next. If you love romance novels, you will love this one. The book was very well edited and easy to read.

The only problem that I had with the book was the amount of poetry that was quoted in the book as I am not a big poetry fan.

I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars only because of all the poetry and references to poets in the book. Otherwise, I would have given the book a higher rating I really enjoyed reading Looking Glass Friends and I will be researching more books by E. L. Neve

If you are a romance book fan and you love poetry, then I recommend this book for you.

I am glad that Ellie and Neil found each other as soul mates. They were both able to replace their unhappy marriages, I assume. This sounds delightful and hopeful. No wonder one cannot put the book down once they start reading it.

This sounds like a good story. Your review did it great justice. Thank you for taking time.

Though not a big romance fan, I would love to know more about Neil and Ellie and how they got together in their lives. Thanks for sharing your review!

Oh, you had me hooked, until it got to the poetry bit, I'm not a fan, and I would find it too distracting to keep reading. However, I do hope that Niel and Ellie get their happy ending.
