[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a great novel that centers on greed, adventure and powerful magic. The Land of Prince was like a nightmare for Galen. Fear, horror and death in his very own homeland. After so many years of endurance, Galen Bray finally found a breakthrough after running as fast as his little legs could carry him into a boat going to Voulhire- The land of magic, with the hope of having a better and peaceful existence, but nowhere is perfect. He realized that the perfect picture of his new location was not that perfect as he predicted. The evil, lies, and conspiracy. Was he able to overcome all this? Why don't you sit back and find out?
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is an outstanding and exciting novel filled with different emotions. Matthew Tysz did a fantastic job introducing the book with different characters and the role they played, which gave a clearer understanding about individual's responsibility. I love how the author was able to incorporate a map at the beginning of the book, which gave a clearer understanding. I also love the author's choice of word, simplicity with no ambiguity. Reading this book is so intriguing, leaving you with the question, “what will happen next?”. My favorite character is Galen Bray. Despite his experiences at the Land of Prince, he still stayed true to himself. Another thing I love about this book is the author's effort making the book relatable. I was able to view the world of Voulhire from Galen's perspective.
I find the book very fascinating, but I do not like the introductory part as I find it slow paced and a bit boring, I also found the characters confusing at a point, thanks to the author's description of each character and the role they played in the introductory part of the book.
All in all, what I dislike about the book did not affect the overall excitement I got while reading this book. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. This is because I enjoyed reading this book. I found no grammatical error; Therefore it's safe to say it is professionally edited.
I recommend this book to fantasy lovers and lovers of magical adventures. This book is also suitable to mature minds who are politically driven and loves to be a leader. I do not recommend this book to pre-teen and young adult because of the presence of sexual content and high level of profanity.
