Many things in life do not turn out as we hope or plan, but when the unexpected happens and you stumble, get back up as soon as you can. When life knocks you off balance, try to regain it quickly. Do everything you can to stand up straight. One thing you should never do is give up.

Of the three books that Tom Wick has authored, When Life Doesn't Turn Out The Way We Hoped It Would? Volume 2 is the second. This book is the continuation of Tom Wick's amazing memoir.

This book was written by Tom Wick in such a way that it can be read independently, so readers don't need to be familiar with the prior book in the series to understand this one. Tom Wick provides readers with a fascinating look into his experiences as a United States naval officer, including the many locations he visited and the photographs he took along the way. He also shares with readers his maritime experiences and his time spent as a crew member on a ship called Gridley, which was named after a captain. Tom Wick explains to readers the size of the ship and some of its components.

I must admit that this is among the best nonfiction books I have ever read; I found it to be original and motivating. As someone who admires servicemen and women in general, and the navy in particular, there are many aspects of this novel that I adore. However, the part of this book that I like the most is when Tom Wick takes readers on a tour of the ship called Gridley and describes what it's like to be a navy officer and how life is at sea. This book is so educational, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I particularly appreciate the photographs of the locations Tom Wick visited and the different maps that were included in this book since they make it easier for me to comprehend the information he was trying to impart to readers at each stage about a particular place or occasion. However, I did notice several errors in the book which detracted from the overall quality of the writing.

The only aspect of this book that I liked the least was the title. I found it to be too long, which made it difficult to memorize or remember. I prefer a book title to be short and easy to remember. Despite the errors, I recommend this nonfiction book to readers who are in the military and anyone who is interested in learning more about ships and what it's like to be a navy officer. It's clear that Tom Wick's life was full of experiences, and it was well-narrated. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because of how fascinating and educational it was, despite the errors.
