Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies, by Matthew Tysz, is the first part of the Voulhire series, its genre is fantasy and science fiction. The book begins with the flight of Galen Bray, the protagonist, he is a young man who grew up with various restrictions, in the Land of the Princes of the Kingdom of Voulhire, because the four sons of the emperor were at war with each other, a war that incited by the same emperor, father of princes, to prevent them from conspiring against him.
The story is based on giving context to the crisis that was occurring in the Land of Princes, where Galen lived, fortunately for him, an uncle, whom he did not know, was looking for him to inherit his forge business in Voulhire. Then, upon arriving in Voulhire, Galen learns that his uncle has died and that he must learn everything on his own, guided only by a journal his uncle wrote before he died.
I love a clear vision of the fictional world that the author describes, since the details abound and give a great setting to imagine the environment of Voulhire, I also really like that this story contains mastery and use of magic by certain wielders, it adds a particular charm to it, so I recommend it to everyone who loves magic-oriented fantasy stories.
A detail that seems very interesting to me is the intrigue that surrounds the unknown: is Lord Meldorath really alive or not?, and what did he do so badly that everyone fears him like that? And even more, I really like the counterparts that the characters pose as the story progresses, to sow doubt in the reader and thus let it develop in the following parts.
The book is well organized and easy to read, although at the beginning of the story it can be a bit tedious due to the introductory stories of all the characters. But in general, I would not highlight any negative aspect that could be highlighted for my taste.
I recommend this book for all those readers, preferably 14 years and older, who appreciate the fantasy and fiction genre, because it is an incredible story. The story contains some descriptive scenes of violence. So if for an audience that may be sensitive to these types of scenes, it would be advisable to refrain from this reading. On the other hand, I really appreciate that the book has a very good edition and no errors.
In conclusion, I loved the story, it caught me and left me wanting to know how it will continue. My favorite character is Galen, because of his simplicity, and I would love to know much more about Lord Meldorath, because it can be seen that he is much more than what everyone thinks. Finally, I rate the book with 4 out of 5 stars, it's been a long time since a story filled me with intrigue and the desire for more, and the author, with this excellent installment, has achieved it.
