Review of Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula

[Following is a volunteer review of "Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula" by R.F. Kristi.]
Inca, the cat detective, and her family, with their humanoid mom, Missy, head to South Korea. Missy was invited to the French cookery school, Cordon Bleu, to present her new cheese and participate as a judge in the school's French patisserie competition. The cats befriended a Korean dog, whose master was yearning for his long-lost sister living in North Korea. On their way to South Korea, as they leave the airplane in Seoul, Missy's special cheese goes missing. Ji was going to be a part of the competition, and Ye-Jun and Missy were hopeful to see her and her cat, but Ji leaves Bo-Ming in North Korea and cannot afford to reunite with her brother forever, leaving her cat behind. Can Inca and Co. bring peace, harmony, and reunion to a family divided within the Korean Peninsula? Will Missy's special cheese be recovered? And who is behind the theft of this special cheese? Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi is the eighth in the Inca Cat Detectives series, and I like that it can be read as a standalone despite being part of a series. The author's writing style makes the book not only feasible for young readers but also enjoyable. The illustrations are also commendable, as they make it easy to visualize and fun to read. The facts about Korea and their traditions serve as a teaching guide for anyone intending to travel to Korea. They would find this information very helpful. As this is the first book in the Inca Cat series that I have read, the family tree at the beginning of the book helped me to understand the characters. I love how Inca rallied her group to help Bo-Ming and Baram and saved the humanoids the trouble of having to do it themselves.
I couldn't find much to dislike about this book, except for the fact that the illustrations sometimes seemed out of place, that is, they didn't match the exact page they were on, and I found it difficult to refer back to them when reading. Also, I felt the facts presented about Korea were too ambiguous for the target audience.
This book was exceptionally well edited, as I spotted no errors while reading. Therefore, I would give this book a rating of five out of five stars. Children can learn a lot from reading this book as it contains positive role models. As the positives outweigh the negatives, I see no reason to give this book a lesser rating.
I would recommend this book to parents who will find it useful as bedtime stories. I also recommend it for middle-grade readers, as it portrays positive role models, contains a lot of moral lessons, and is fun to read.
