Terms of Service, a story written by Craig W. Stanfill hints at a dystopian future causing readers to pause and think about the impact of technology on our daily lives. Our main character, Kim, is an intelligent, obedient person who longs to collaborate with the elusive Artificial Intelligence Bots. She is forced to perform boring duties with the automatons at work, which does nothing to break up the monotony of her life. Until one day, when her routine existence suddenly takes a turn for the better and she learns secrets that upend everything. She must make decisions to maintain her reputation in all spheres of her life, including employment, family, and social position.
Despite everything Kim believed in, she always felt something amiss, so when an opportunity arises for her and Shan to go on an adventure, she accepts it which lands them in the “City of the Damned”. One is at once engulfed in the world of AI and is pushed to stretch the walls of one’s imagination.
The title Terms of Service: Subject to Change Without Notice was a true representation of the novel, since everything was continually shifting, it was difficult to predict what would happen next. Craig made sure the reader was intrigued all the way to the last page. In the novel, one particular company is in charge of all facets of life, including transportation, food, and clothing. Even while everything seems to be in order, some of the characters' internal conflicts illustrate what it really means to be a human and what each person should seek to defend jealously: free choice. Ardent readers of science fiction can expect to be in for a treat.
The book is a slow read at first but after a couple of chapters giving insight of Kim’s life are over and one starts understanding the world of AI and how Kim fits into it, it piques one’s interests. Overall, I enjoyed the book though would have liked a through ending which seemed a bit rushed.

I would rate the book 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who is interested in sci-fi and also thought provoking pushing one to consider how technology overtaking the world will look like and what makes us human.
