If you are a fan of crime thrillers with deep psychological undertones and tangled love relationships, then JTs World by E. Alan Fleischauer will become your reliable companion. The story opens with the death of one of the characters, Mika, in JT Thomas' newly created family area. Mika's lover Billy stood beside her lifeless body, clutching a bleeding bowling pin. Perhaps Mika's husband is right, and Billy murdered Mika out of jealousy?

These events were witnessed by a cold-blooded killer who was not found guilty by the court and thus lived free. Instead of guilt, his heart was filled with even more hate, and he kept his gaze fixed on JT, obsessed with the desire to kill once more. If you think this murder is the main knot of the book, you are mistaken. Soon, with the appearance of a new character, everything turns upside down, and the story becomes even more shrouded in mystery.

The narration is in the third person, which adds to the intrigue of the story. The author's vivid and descriptive style makes the book engaging and remarkable. What I enjoyed best about the story was that it was full of surprises. When I thought everything was clear, things changed when a new character came, raising numerous questions. Tiger Olsen made such an appearance. Although the countdown begins with Mika's death, the focus of the story is the murder of JT's first love, Annabelle, which has transpired thus far but has had the greatest influence on the protagonists. Who killed Annabelle and why, and are the murders connected?

The elements of the romance add a sad touch to the story but certainly, make the book more interesting. Relationships are complex; for instance, Mika's husband, who made many mistakes, still lived with his wife despite his different orientation, and in the end, suffered a lot from her death. In today's world, we frequently meet such people who marry the opposite sex to mask their orientation, but self-acceptance is the key to a happy life.

The main character tries to cope with the loss of a loved one. JT believes that Annabelle is reincarnated as a red cougar, which has both symbolic and emotional significance. The book's ending was wonderful: We cannot move forward unless we learn to let go of the past. My least favorite aspect of this book is the cover and title. I think they do not arouse enough interest in the reader. Of course, this fact did not stop me from enjoying JTs world.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because I see no reason to give this book less than a perfect rating. The storyline is complex as are the characters and relationships. The author has maintained constant intrigue and question marks, which does not allow the reader to relax. This book is exceptionally well-edited, as I noticed only one error. I recommend this book to crime thriller lovers. Also, those who like to read psychological thrillers and novels will enjoy this book.
