[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is an exciting science fiction book. It is one of the books in the series – We Are Voulhire. This book encompasses the stories of politics, war, magic, witchcraft, and murder. The Land of the Princes has been experiencing wars and chaos for many years under four princes who desire total dominance. Everyone tried to get out of the land due to these wars. Galen is a young chap who wishes to leave the Land of Princes and travel to Magnum Caelum, where he believed his situation would be better than what he was currently experiencing. Fortunately, he discovered that his late uncle had willed his steel forge business to him. His adventures after this were full of many twists. On the other hand, Lord Orlin who had been directing the affairs of Hillport (one of the Voulhire regions) was attacked by Meldorath, a magistrate. The entire army guarding Lord Orlin couldn't handle Meldorath and his two subordinates due to the magical powers of Meldorath and his two accomplices. The monarch of the Voulhire region, King Wilhelm Arcolo caught wind of this news and immediately got Meldorath arrested with the help of some Mages. He appointed Lord Eldus to replace Lord Orlin at Hillport and later announced that Meldorath had passed away. Is he gone, or is the King deceiving his subjects?
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is an enthralling and captivating book. One thing I like about the book is that it contains maps that allow us to visualize the fictional kingdom of Voulhire. The author also did a great job of developing the characters. I also love the reference section, which is found at the end of the book that explains the terminologies used in Voulhire. This greatly helps in understanding difficult words and phrases. The way the author describes every event and action gives the readers a feeling of presence. The book has a perfect plot, and flows steadily with a lot of twists and turns to keep the readers glued.
I enjoyed reading We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies. The book is both intriguing and suspenseful. Some readers may find it difficult to read a book without a table of contents. Personally, that was not an issue for me but I would suggest that the author should add a table of contents to his book. Since this book is a series, a glossary of characters should also be added. I find no other faults in the book.
I will rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The book has a good plot and the characters are well-developed. The words used are unambiguous which makes comprehension easier. While reading this book, I didn't find any grammatical or typographical errors, so I would say it was exceptionally edited.
I would recommend We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies to people who are lovers of books containing actions, fantasy, and adventures. I would also suggest this book to anyone who likes reading historical fiction.
