I have listened to many audiobooks on Audible, which is an audiobook service owned by Amazon. I generally found the experience met my expectations.

Setting up an account: The registration process was very easy. If you have an Amazon account, you can use that log in information or you can set up a new Audible account, it's up to you. If you use your Amazon account, you can purchase the audiobook for kindle books you are reading and take advantage of Whispersync (see Amazon for details). The entire website is pretty easy to use. The Audible website will make recommendations based on your previous Amazon purchases and will also make recommendations once you have some purchases from Audible. I prefer to have titles recommended to be rather than sifting through tons of titles available.

Availability of Audiobooks: The variety of audiobooks available was okay. It's probably as good or better than any other audiobook service but I still had some issues finding audiobooks that I wanted to listen to. What's even worse is that often the first book in a series is available but not the sequels. While this isn't necessarily Audible's fault (the book hasn't been made into an audiobook yet) it is still really annoying. Again, I doubt this actually has anything to do with the service Audible provides and is more based on the audiobook industry right now, but it still merits mentioning.

Price: I think the price for a monthly subscription to Audible, $14.95/month, is a little steep. For that price, you get one audiobook. I listen to at least three if not more audiobooks each month (I have a fairly long commute) so I end up having to purchase additional audiobooks. If you have a membership, you can get some books cheaper on Amazon if you purchase the kindle book, but I still think the $15 a month is a bit expensive for what you actually get.

Support: I did contact Audible support once. I used the online chat feature. It worked well and the lady I chatted with was very helpful and knowledgeable. I was very pleased with my support experience.

Overall, my experience with Audible has met my expectations. I will continue to use Audible because of its connection to Amazon and the convenience of it. I think the price is a little high, but haven't found an equivalent service that has a lower price, so for now, it'll have to do.
