[Following is a volunteer review of "The Date Farm" by Jack Winnick.]
Uri and Lara are back at fighting terrorism in The Date Farm: Lara and Uri: Book 4 by Jack Winnick. A terrorist attack in a mall of Beverly Hills disrupt Uri and Lara’s vacation as they were trying to rest and relax from their busy lives. After not making any headway on the investigation, it is put on the back burner until another attack happens. This time terrorists attack New York City. Taking over two buildings in New York City, terrorists are searching for something very valuable to the United States. Only a handful of people are aware of this valuable material, causing the federal agencies to wonder what the terrorists are after. After the attack on New York, Uri and Lara go undercover on a date farm to retrieve information to retrieve the valuable material that was stolen. They face many difficulties in their mission to retrieve this great American asset.
This adventure was a page turner. From chapter one until the end, it keeps the reader wanting more and thinking. It was not a slow start to the book, in fact it started with a bang. The reader learns to empathize with the characters and begin to feel a connection to them. This was well written and fun to read.
I could not find a negative aspect about the book. Grammatically, there were no flaws that I found. The characters were well developed, and the storyline was easy to follow.
I would rate this book as 5 out of 5 stars. With each page you did not know what was going to happen next or how the characters were going to manage the situations they faced. The action started in the first page and kept going strong until the last page. There were no grammatical errors to cause distractions. The scenes were described well, and one can understand how each of the characters felt. It was an enjoyable read that I would recommend to friends.
This book would be best suited for young adults who are interested in an action-packed adventure. The age group of young adults and older would better understand and connect to the characters. There are times one who is married or in a relationship would have more empathy for the characters or understand their point of view more. It could be read by teenagers who are a little more mature. There are no scenes that are inappropriate but may be better for more mature audiences.
