Review of Reconfigurement
In the United States and the world at large, surveys show that very few people plan for their future nowadays than most. And yes, planning for the future is what Reconfigurement is about! This book was written by E. Alan Fleischauer who is a certified financial planner, chartered financial consultant, chartered life underwriter, retirement income professional, and estate planner among other. He clearly explains the reasons why financial, insurance and saving is vital as one is aging drawing closer to retirement.
This has become more concerning especially in the United States since most pensions have been scraped off and the little existing ones are under funded. The author also talks about the importance of investing. He explains some of the popular investment options such as municipal bonds, government bonds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), treasury bills etc.Fleischauer also stretches other important areas such as Wills and Trusts and Medical insurance. Given the statistics that per minute, every day, all day, accidents occur which usually comes with a heavy cost on medical care, then we can see why health insurance is a must have. Also not forgetting the pandemics breaking up such as coronavirus.
I like how complex the book is and yet easy to understand. Another part I liked the most is career and work values assessments. It has been found that most of the people who retire before retirement age retire with a view to changing their careers. This made me pause for a moment and reflect on the career I've chosen too! He also provides some highly recommended online sites for personality and potential tests to help you identify careers that best fits you. Though they are not a hundred percent accurate, they are reliable. More encouraging is even the author himself took them and the results are in the same book.
It is amazing how creative the author is. He knew the book would be boring to people without knowledge related to a business career, so instead, he keeps throwing in some jokes to keep everyone going. Also the use of real life experiences of some successful people makes the book real and motivating.
Frankly, as I was reading, I could hardly find anything I may dislike. Therefore, I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. This is also due to the high professionalism of its edition.
Reconfigurement is best for people starting from late thirties to around the sixties and this is even the age range mostly addressed. However, it's also suitable for retirees who are over sixty years of age. I also recommend it to young adults, especially those uncertain about their career goals.
