Review of Unicorns Know Magic

[Following is a volunteer review of "Unicorns Know Magic" by Charles Adkins.]
Unicorns Know Magic by Charles T. Adkins is a children's book about unicorns. The sibling duo discovered the new neighbors were unicorns. Abby, Georgia, Bitsy, and Chase were their given names. Aside from their various magical abilities, each of them excelled at a particular talent. The children were even able to travel to other cities, such as Paris and London, thanks to the unicorns. The kids took the unicorns on a magical flight to school, where they had a great time with their friends.
This book introduces children to the mythical creature known as a unicorn. They also learn a few phrases in French and about a delicious pastry called a "croissant," among other things about Paris and London. If a child reads this book, they will understand that being away from home for an extended period of time may cause their parents concern. If your child has a habit of daydreaming in class, remind them that the unicorns also paid attention. The bright colors used in the illustrations are sure to pique a young reader's interest. The narrative is written in a poetic style.
The only thing the unicorns did that I didn't like and was worried my son would do if I read it to him was that they had no manners, but parents can just skip those pages if they don't want to read it to their child for the same reason.
Even though I normally personally dislike poetry, I really enjoy this story's poetic tone. The story's message to kids and the book's vibrant illustrations are both strengths. I appreciated that the author included a scene in which unicorns ate their favorite vegetables, which can encourage kids to eat their greens. That they pitched in with housework and tidiness was a nice touch, too.
I gave this book a perfect score of 5 out of 5 stars because I thought the story was great and believe that other children will too. Your child will learn a lot of valuable lessons from this book. One of my favorite parts was all the bright, cheery pictures. The conclusion was ideal. The book was edited well, and it read quickly.
I think this is a great book for kids under 9 who are interested in fantasy, especially unicorns.
