Terms of Service by Craig W. Stanfill is a thrilling, and relevant story about the implications of capitalism and technology. Set in the distant (but all to near) future the story follows Kim a young and smart employee just trying to live according to the rules of society. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) some events take place that shed some light on the reality of the society she is a part of and the work she does for her company. This coming-of-age story made me think about my reality and the very real possibility that this may be my future.

This book is great AI focused take on dystopian futures, that incorporates a great deal of technical AI science. I found myself learning about more technical aspects of AI and pondering some philosophical questions about reality. Craig W. Stanfill did a fantastic job of keeping me on the edge of my seat for the entire book. The pacing starts of slow as you enter this future and really picks up later on in the book, just as you get accustomed to the book reality. The author also did a great job of creating an attachment to each of the characters that makes me itch to read the next book right away. After reading this book I needed a moment to truly grasp all of the concepts and mind-bending truths in the book. It even had me questioning by own existence and reality.

I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to begin the next in the series. Truthfully, I started reading the second book first unaware it was the second in a series. As soon as I figured it out, I had to go back and read the first, and I am very glad I did.

I rate this book a 4 out of 4 . I really enjoyed reading this book and I would highly recommend this to all of my friends. If you are the type of person to constantly question your reality and curse capitalism, then this is the book for you!

I would also rate this book 5 out of 5 . I definitely think this book is one of the best modern version of a dystopian future that seems to be eerily possible.
