Dagger’s Destiny is a novel written by Linnea Tanner. The book was about the king of Celtic, his daughter and a Roman soldier. The book has 350 pages and 53 chapters. This book is the second in the series.

The Celtic kingdom was ruled by King Amren, a man of power and a lover of his people. His queen, Rhan, was caught carrying out a treacherous act against the king and that led to her execution. Queen Rhan placed a cause on a dagger and the curse prophesied that her son, Marrock, would kill the king. The king was determined to break the curse and evade death at the hand of his son. An action by his daughter, Princess Catrin, changed everything, and this led to the change of the inscription on the dagger. This made the king charge his daughter with treason and banish her from the kingdom. Princess Catrin needs to prove her innocence and also save her people. This made her embark on a journey of self-discovery and a mission to defeat Marrock and break the curse. What led to the change in the dagger’s inscription? Will she succeed in her mission to break the curse?

I fell in love with this book from the start as it was worth a read. The book can be read as a standalone, as it is the second book in the series. I love the character development in this book, as some characters like Catrin were made to have continuous growth throughout. Readers can experience different emotions in the book, ranging from love to rage to betrayal. The author’s narration well captured the love between Catrin and Marcellus, and I was able to relate to it. The author was able to provide a vivid description of things, events and even characters, and this brought the book to life. I loved the way the author built up the suspense in this book, as this led me from one chapter to the next. I love the character of Princess Catrin, as she was a brave lady who loves her father and wanted to regain her father’s love and confidence. All these were the positives of this book.

The only thing I disliked in this book was the use of profane words. The author used many profane words, and this got to me. Apart from this, I was unable to fault this book. The book was also exceptionally edited.

I will rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The negative I found was not enough to remove a star from the book. I enjoyed the book and its storyline. I will recommend this book to lovers of historical books with Greek settings.
