This work of fiction by Craig W. Stanfill is titled Terms of Service. It offers us a glimpse into a dystopian future in which technology and artificial intelligence have taken over as the foundation of all human endeavours. It illustrates how a society in which people are so dependent on artificial intelligence for daily tasks could fall under the control of the same AI that now controls all human behaviour. The AI can control and specify daily activities, relationships, birth schedules, and parenting schedules, among other things. The book provides information about the advantages and disadvantages of a society that depends on artificial intelligence to function. It also shows what our current civilization may look like in the future if artificial intelligence is developed further.

At the age of four, the main heroine, Kim, was taken from her birth parents and sent to a caregiver named Zani. Kim was brought up by Zani to always follow the terms of service for the majority of her life, abiding by the terms of service. The firm appears to be infringing on citizens' fundamental rights by telling them how to conduct their lives and penalizing those who don't.

However, things started to change when she reunited with an old friend called Shan. They embarked on a journey together that would reveal some dreadful truths about artificial intelligence and give them the chance to discover and express their love for one another. Kim and Shan must collaborate with Kimberly to correct the abnormality and get out from under the restrictions of the system that has labelled them as the leaders of a gender cult (an AI). Will their actions have the desired effect?

I enjoy the way the story unfolds, the tension that permeates every chapter, the suspense, and the way the author vividly brings the characters to life. I also like how the author gently conveyed some sexual material without being overtly crude and how the novel's theme is fairly realistic given how crucial artificial intelligence is to contemporary society.

Nothing in this book bothers me. I like reading it.

I gave the book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars since the author's writing style, character development, and relativism were all faultless. The book was professionally edited and devoid of mistakes. I will recommend this book to those who are interested in artificial intelligence, authors who are creative and tech-savvy, and human rights supporters.
