A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a fictional tale of betrayal, magic and some science that converged many realms into one. It is a spectacular tale of a powerful mage exiled to an unknown destination. The story traces the events of the Dalehei Meldorath, who could move the oceans without flinching. Why did he timidly accept the exile served by the king? The story unfolds in the coastal village of Hillport. Magic and science come together in a dazzling amalgamation of political events on a land named Voulhire in another realm. Will Meldorath unite with his master, a biomage?

There is not a single moment of dullness in the book. It is exciting to the core; each chapter gives you a new thrill and reveals just enough to get your adrenaline high. By the time you reach the end of the book, you are desperate for more. Full marks for the descriptive narration of Matthew Tysz. It was more like watching the story unfold in my mind's eye. Every place is described just right to get a lucid visualization of the venue. It has a map at the beginning of the book; a reader may want to check it whenever the tale talks about a place. The sci-fi tale takes you through many places in Voulhire. A brief introduction of the main characters precedes the story. This introduction gives a peek into the tale about to be told. I loved the way everything is formatted in the book.

I am the kind of person who, when engrossed in the story, won't pay attention to the names of the chapter. This book doesn't have an index or chapter numbers. Every chapter's name hints about the tale of the character mentioned in it. Although it was intriguing, I would have preferred a chapter number to remember easily.

The language is lucid, the plot is crafty, and the narration is exceptional. This book belongs to the Science fiction genre; although there is only magic in the beginning, the end throws light on the link between science and magic. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this book to people who love to read magic fantasy tales, science fiction tales, and all fast-paced fiction tales. I am sure once you begin reading, the magical story in the book controls your imagination like a powerful magician (read mage).
