Today, we live in a world, where people have a longer life expectancy, than the previous generations. That is quiet fascinating. However, your life does not end after retirement. Many people are clueless, on what to do after retirement. When you retire, you no longer have a monthly salary and for some people, that is quiet scary. But, if one plans ahead financially, it is possible to make retirement years, your golden years.

Reconfigurement, is a self-help book, by E. Alan Fleischauer, that aims at helping individuals, modify the way they view financial literacy, especially towards retirement. Growing old is an inevitable part of humanity and this book, helps you understand, why preparing ahead is so crucial. The author, shares insights about financial planning and the importance of having a retirement plan, in an easy and enjoyable manner. The author, also addresses various topics such as, insurance policies, career assessments, budgeting and investing, just to mention a few. The author, repeatedly emphasise that, Reconfigurement, is all about planning ahead and he convey this message in such a way, that makes you, to want to sit down and start planning about retirement, earlier in life, rather than later.

There are several aspects, that I love about this book, but what stood out the most, is the author's conversational writing style. It makes readers to feel like, they are just having a conversation about financial planning, with the author. That is quiet outstanding.
I also love, how the author uses stories that are quiet engaging, to convey his message, by explaining further, the moral of the story. This way, you are not just reading a book, but actually thinking deeply about what you are reading. I love how, the author breaks down the message step by step, to ensure that, the readers are following. Last but not list, I found the author's sense of humour very intriguing and interesting.

However, there is only one thing that, I disliked about the book. The author stated clearly in the beginning, that he lives in America and in the book, he seemed to be mostly addressing to his fellow Americans only. Non-American readers may feel, like the book is not intended for them or that, they are excluded. I feel like, he could have kept a balance, instead of focusing too much on American policies only. Since the purpose of the book is to help individuals, to reconfigure their lives, no matter from what continent, they are from.

The ideal readers for this book is age forty to fifty. But, I will also recommend this book to, high School kids, who are about to go off to college. The career assessment covered in the book, can be very helpful. It is also suitable, for those planning on changing careers. I will also recommend this book, to married couples to read together, couples that are planning on getting married, as well as employers and employees. Overall, this book is suitable to anyone who aspires financial independence and a fulfilling retirement.

This book shifted my overall view and attitude towards retirement. It has exceeded my expectations. It is not just another self-help book, but it is a descriptive guide. The book is well researched. The editing team, did a phenomenal job. The book is exceptionally well edited, as I did not spot any errors. For the reasons stated above, I rate this book a very well deserved 5 out of 5
