The Mystery Of Flight 2222 by Thomas Neviaser is a mystery novel about a vortex created by the deceptions of the past. It highlights the destinies of nine people who meet on a plane. Also, the book illustrates themes such as teamwork, survival, and death.

Briefly, the story focuses on Frank Mason, a stock analyst who makes a trip to Buenos Aires for work. On board the Airbus 330 plane, he is sitting opposite Helen Hampton, a woman who is going to Argentina for the funeral of the mother of her ex-husband. Frank starts chatting with her and invites her to participate in his game of guessing the names and occupations of seven random passengers on the plane. Everything takes a tragic turn when an unexplained malfunction causes the plane to crash, and the most bizarre fact Frank and Helen discover is that the only survivors apart from them are the very passengers in their game.

I enjoyed the fast-paced narration sprinkled with engaging dialogues and brief descriptions of the surroundings and characters. I loved that the story had no filler elements, and I appreciated the gradual presentation of the seven passengers from Frank's guessing game: Homer, Otto, Irving, Maxine, Kimberly, Yuto, and Soo Mi. Also, I liked the character development, especially Frank's mindset. For instance, I loved his plane trivia and his initiative in creating a survival plan.

Another positive aspect of this novel was the remarkable illustration of the psychological factor in the survival story. I liked how the author highlighted the survivors' understanding of their fates and that he perfectly presented why a human is capable of saving his life and surviving in extreme conditions. For example, I imagined myself in the unfortunate situation of the passengers, and I empathized with their despair and terror, which were justified by the proximity of death. Also, the side stories of the characters and their past actions shocked me.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because I enjoyed its mixture of mystery and suspense. The captivating plot intrigued me, and I felt like watching a thriller in which everything depended on the cooperation of the survivors. I empathized with the nine passengers and liked that they did not lose hope while waiting for the rescue. The only aspect I disliked was the barbaric acts caused by the lack of food, but I understood their necessity in highlighting the desperation in the face of death. Also, The Mystery Of Flight 2222 was professionally edited. I only discovered two minor errors that did not influence my reading.

I recommend this book to fans of mystery novels, especially those interested in karmic endings. It is perfect for people eager to read a survival story in which the death of others becomes a blessing, but not for those who may be sensitive to savagery and cannibalism. Also, The Mystery Of Flight 2222 is suitable for young adults and adults due to its non-borderline profanity and lack of erotic content.
