It was a heartwarming story about the adventures of two siblings in California and the valuable lessons they learned along the way. The author's narrative style was simple to understand, and I really enjoyed her use of italicization to emphasize certain words. The character development was fantastic and I particularly loved the development of Mary Grace's personality.

I am so impressed by the way bullying was handled and the committed attention provided to youngsters that require particular care. I was also really touched by the way Donny never allowed his enthusiasm to falter despite having Down Syndrome.

This book teaches us so many valuable lessons, and I really appreciate the way the author handled bullying. I also love the way the author portrayed her characters - they acted and reacted like real kids would.

I liked the way the author described punishment as something that doesn’t have to extreme or severe but a caution that will guide a child to do better next time. Parents should learn from this

Donny is a boy who has an illness that is usually scary in our present day world now. Having children with such ailment is usually easy and I salute parents with children like this.

It's refreshing to see a book that emphasizes the value of independence and building relationships with others. The fact that the book is aimed at children but still manages to be captivating for all ages is impressive.
