In a world where AIs control everything and are forced into obedience, where humans can't do things by themselves and their every action and life are controlled by AIs, what does it take to be different, to be rebellious, and break out of the system? Only Kim knows.

The Prophecy of the Heron by Craig W. Stanfill is a sci-fi fantasy book and the 2nd book in its series. Following book one, after Kim's rebellion and involvement in impermissive intimacy with Shan, she was taken to the hall of justice, went through a trial, and was charged with genderism. She was sent into exile to district 33, the most dangerous district ever. With an unknown order for her life to be taken, she faces difficulties and so many obstacles. She became a pretty to survive, and just when things were taking shape, she was attacked, taken back to the AI center at the point of death, and asked to terminate and create another Kimberly. Will the rebellion go on? Will she accept her fate? Or is she ready to accept death?

This book, although the second in its series, is just as interesting as the first book, Terms of Service, and can be read as a stand-alone book. Craig's style of writing is just as interesting and intriguing as always. When I read book one, I thought that was all. The inclusion of book two sealed every chapter together, and I can't wait for the installment of book 3. I loved the way the characters in the book are all developed. This made me able to connect with the characters so much. Even the way the AIs interact and give orders is one to ponder. All I can say is that Craig did pour all his imagination into this book because I can't think of any other AI dystopia book more intriguing than this.

After my reading, I am starving to know what's going to happen next and can't wait for the next book. I found nothing worth hating in this book. Although just like in the first book, the concept of no gender and everyone being addressed as "she, her," is still off. Nevertheless, this book is still amazing. This book shows how AIs work and think. It also tells readers that they, the AIs, are capable of thinking and rebelling at some point. Kim, as always, is my favorite character and her toughness in this book kept me amazed. Glad to know she came out stronger. Anticipating the next book!

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I believe it deserves my rating because of my praises. It's exceptionally well-edited as well. I recommend it to lovers of sci-fi and fantasy books. Lovers of action-packed books and readers interested in dystopia books.
