I find the details of this book quite sensitive. Although it is a work of fiction, it draws from a source that holds a significant position in the minds and culture of the modern population, which makes the book uncomfortable for me. However, the writer's creativity is highly appreciated.

Confusion now hath made his masterpiece.

William Shakespeare, Macbeth

Killing Abel revolves around the classic tale of the first murder where Cain kills his own brother. I think I will pass the book because the plot feels familiar and predictable. The sample made me realise that the story was not from Cain's point of view and thus offered no fresh perspective. However, congratulations on the BOTD.

The excerpt from Killing Abel is a fictional account of scripture in the Book of Genesis from the Christian Old Testament. The author Michael Tieman imagines a fully fleshed out story from certain verses that were not clarified in the Bible. He expounds on the concepts of good and evil, as well as consequences for disobedience. This fictionalized tale also explores God's reactions and feelings to the fall of man. God is not only a father to his son, but a father to mankind, a role which he lovingly accepts even though mankind will be subject to myriad trials and tribulations.
