Bluewater Walkabout: Into Africa by Tina Dreffin is a heartwarming memoir about a family's journey through Africa. After the tragedy of 9/11, Tina sets sail with her husband, two teenage sons, and friends and embarks on a tour through South Africa and other parts of Africa. The book describes their thrilling and scary adventures as they travel through dangerous waters and bad weather. As they travel and learn about different cultures and landscapes, the family finds hope and grows closer together. In addition, Tina homeschools her children on their journey and even visits the diamond mines in Namibia.

One of the things I liked about the book is how the author combines vivid descriptions and imaginative storytelling, stimulating the reader's mind with vivid images of the events and people mentioned. The author's writing style not only makes the book an enjoyable read, but it is also highly educational. Throughout the book, the author weaves in many different kinds of information, such as sailing and life at sea, animals and how they act, how medicines and other substances affect pregnancy, cultural appreciation, and historical people and events.

This makes the book a unique experience that is not only entertaining but also enlightening. Tina's journey with her family and her inspiring parenting taught me the value of living life to the fullest and facing fears head-on.

This book has great character development. Their experiences and actions shape each character according to who they are and where they come from. This highlights the impact of the environment and people on one's decisions and behavior. The book also talks about family values and how important it is to keep and grow relationships. This makes it a heartwarming book that celebrates family ties.

The only thing I disliked about this book was where the flashbacks were put, which made it a little harder for me to read. I suggest the author consider adding a separate section or chapter for these flashbacks. Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed the thrilling and entertaining adventures described in the book. Pictures were a great touch and allowed me to visualize the author's ideas better.

I give this book a full rating of 5 out of 5 stars, as it exceeded my expectations. The author's vivid descriptions and educational elements made it a thrilling and enlightening read. The descriptions of marine life and tropical forests were interesting, and the dangers of the sea added to the excitement. Also, I love that I didn't find any mistakes while reading the book, which shows that it was exceptionally well-edited. Overall, Bluewater Walkabout left a lasting impact on me and gave me a new perspective on life.

This is a must-read if you are looking for a book that combines entertainment and education. I recommend it to anyone looking for inspiration, adventure, and a glimpse into a unique way of life.
