Matthew Tysz's We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is a science-fiction fantasy novel. Magic, fantasy, and adventure are all there in this novel. The struggle for dominance depicted in this novel manifests itself as phoney friendships, betrayals by supposed allies, and the cries of weak mortals living under the strict authority of the monarch. In the book, the author discusses power and how cruel those in positions of authority can be. It also discusses how these individuals lie to and manipulate ordinary people to maintain their social status. This book presents a realistic picture of our society today. It also demonstrates how the desire for power has tarnished the society we live in today and has a detrimental impact on every member of the community, especially on the poor.

Galen Bray, the protagonist of the novel, was a refugee who fled the conflict in his own country and moved to Voulhire to manage his uncle's estate. He seized the chance because he needed to flee the carnage and find greatness in a land of milk and honey, or so he believed. Galen struggled for six months before finding Rowan, his uncle's executor, in an inn near Onita Steel. He now finds himself in a more advanced and well-known nation, but he soon learns that the area isn't what he had thought it was, and he also learns that the world in general—including the country he came from—isn't what he had thought it was. He was eventually able to fit the parts of mankind—as well as the connection between people and the universe—together.

The book explains how humans require power for a variety of purposes, including some for the destruction of nations, some for ruling and reigning in a nation, and others for ruling and reigning in a parallel world. Voulhire is home to a variety of creatures, including both mortals and supernatural entities. Galen will undoubtedly discover the true nature of the country he now calls home and how easily individuals may become desirous of power as a result of the change and revelations to come.

I admired the way the author combined his sentences; I also admired his use of language. Each page captivated me, and I couldn't put it down. Each page turn in the book was worthwhile. And, I should add, it was simple to read right from the start.

In all honesty, I didn't find anything to dislike about the book and thought it was worth my time.

I rated the book 5 out of 5 stars because the author did a good job bringing the characters to life and the book was relatable. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good fantasy novel without the usual connotations of sexual material, magic, mystery, politics, and war stories.
