[Following is a volunteer review of "Terms of Service" by Craig W. Stanfill.]
Kim starts her day in oblivion and ends it the same way. She has always felt a sense of longing for something she doesn't know and a feeling of loneliness. She's the perfect example of an ideal citizen and has been working at the AI company for a few years. She was ready for a change in her monotonous job of training AIs. Kim has been living like this, and suddenly her best friend Shan was transferred back from the east. Shan had a way of getting Kim into trouble, with Kim not being able to say no to Shan. The beasts decided to go for a bicycle ride, and what was supposed to be a regular ride turned into a day that got them into trouble with the A.I. Kim was expecting to be dismissed at work, but she ended up being promoted. Is this a trap by the company to drag her into something bigger than her? Read this book to find out more.
Terms of Service: Subject to Change without Notice by Craig W. Stanfill is a book that I enjoyed reading. I like that the plot is just right—not too slow and not too fast. I like Kim's resilience and her intelligence; her job is one I would also like to do one day. Her ability to stand up to the director, even when it meant everything would be taken from her and she could not see her friends anymore, I also like Shan's decision to do what is best for her, and I love the friendship between the two of them. a world with A. is one I know will be interesting to live in; having my refrigerator dish out food without having to cook for myself is one I'd surely indulge in, but the lack of choices is what baffles me. Why anyone should be subject to having to take orders from a set of self-centered people is what I find hard to understand.
I don't have anything to dislike about the book. I didn't like how children were taken from their mothers and given to mentors. I didn't find any errors while reading this book. The book is exceptionally well edited.
I rate this book four out of five stars because it is a good read and I learned a few lessons from it. One thing that touched me the most was that we should always find a way to get free of toxic places and people.
I recommend this book to people who like science fiction and suspense. It is unsuitable for children because of the sexual scenes and profanities.
