What would you do if your entire life was under a microscope and you had no ounce of freedom whatsoever? That's the challenge that the protagonist of this novel faces. Kim lives in a world controlled by all-knowing AIs, and every part of her life is monitored and regulated. They also control what she eats, who she spends time with, and even who she is allowed to have sex with. Breaking the terms in any sort of way will result in swift consequences. Kim starts out as an obedient youth but becomes increasingly frustrated with the totalitarian society. Will Kim’s journey of self-discovery fit within the strict rules of the society she lives in?

Terms of Service: Subject to Change Without Notice by Craig W. Stanfill is a dystopian science fiction novel where privacy and individualism cannot exist. I honestly could not put this book down for long and had to get back to it when I had to set it aside. The world-building in this book was exceptional, and the author created characters that were well thought out and authentic. I also enjoyed the humorous parts in the beginning of the book, such as Kim's ongoing battle with her AI refrigerator. Terms of Service is a highly entertaining, well-written story that will make the reader think about our present and future differently. It made me think of how, even right now, we as humans are slowly losing our privacy due to our reliance on technology. It also raised important issues like free will and freedom of choice.

While I enjoyed the book, I sometimes found it difficult to follow conversations, especially between Kim and Kimberly, unless it explicitly stated who was speaking. I also disliked the depiction of drug use in this book, as it was a constant act. Apart from that, I really enjoyed reading about Kim and how she was slowly pushed toward rebellion.

Overall, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. Craig W. Stanfill spent a lot of time creating a world that was futuristic yet original. Also, the book is professionally edited and contains no errors. I look forward to continuing the tale in the next book.

Science fiction readers will absolutely love this book. However, I recommend it only to young adults and adults, as it contains a lot of sexual and mature content. The book also mentions constant drug use and alcoholism, which some readers might be averse to.
