The fantasy-themed novel We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, written by Matthew Tysz, deftly addresses several issues related to ineffective leaders who are afflicted with selfishness and a desire for power while also shedding light on how man has advanced into cruelty and a lack of morality in his pursuit of power and supremacy. It exposes a different class of individuals who are depicted as having power at their fingertips and those at the other end of the spectrum who are impacted by any tiny shift in their whims and interests and are forced to submit, accede and adapt to whatever situation or landscape occurs after any slight alteration in the graph of power.

Galen Bray, a modest and amusing refugee from the gloomy realm of princes torn asunder by strife, is one of the novel's main protagonists. a weak monarch who is troubled by his desire to have a significant impact on Voulhire's history. A capable judge who has ascended to the position of a lord, with lofty ambitions to transform his struggling fishing community into the hub of southern trade and commerce, providing his people with better living conditions and a well-deserved level of sophistication, and a mage who, despite the risks and repercussions, is driven by a burning desire to learn the secrets of the enigmatic but inaccessible magical realm of Caromentis. This book's author skillfully creates a literary concoction that readers will like, filled with just the perfect mix of intrigue, treachery, power struggles, false and true friendships, connections that are motivated by rewards, magic, science, family, and a thrilling voyage of self-discovery.

I like how expertly the author depicted the settings and people in the novel. It was an astounding feat of inventiveness on his part to use maps and a quick character description at the beginning as a well-intended or necessary crutch for outstanding visualization. The author skillfully switches between first-person and third-person views in this work, incorporates a proper amount of both old and modern English in a practically seamless manner, and maintains a well-ordered gallery of folkloric use that effortlessly fits into the story.

The only aspect of the book that I didn't enjoy was the author's failure to maintain my attention due to the storyline's awkwardness and his virtually imperceptible propensity to add random characters he doesn't plan to develop.

Despite its weaknesses, I found the book to be fascinating to read, and I enjoyed the challenge of attempting to figure out its storyline. These reasons led me to rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free. I recommend this book to ardent believers in fantasy, philosophy, and magic.
