We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under the Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a gripping fictional novel that tells the story of Galen, a war veteran who leaves a land torn apart by conflict to inherit a vast estate in the Kingdom of Voulhire. However, his new surroundings are not what they seem, and Galen must navigate a complex web of political intrigue, magical powers, and personal ambition to survive.

The author has done an excellent job of creating a believable and compelling world in which the story takes place. The various factions and characters in the book are all well-defined, and their motivations are clear and realistic. The pacing of the story is also well-managed, with enough action and intrigue to keep the reader engaged from start to finish. The use of maps and character roles at the beginning of the book is also a nice touch that helps the reader keep track of the various storylines and characters.

While the book is undoubtedly entertaining, there are a few aspects that could have been improved upon. One issue is the complexity of the character names, which can make it difficult for the reader to keep track of who is who. Additionally, there are a few sections of the book where the story seems to meander and lose focus, which can be a little frustrating for the reader.

The book is an impressive and engaging book that is well worth reading. The author's attention to detail and ability to craft a believable and exciting world are commendable, and the story is sure to keep readers entertained from start to finish. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars, as while there are a few issues with the book, they do not detract significantly from the overall quality of the story.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend the book to anyone who enjoys immersive and well-crafted fantasy novels. Fans of George R. R. Martin and J. R. R. Tolkien, in particular, are sure to find much to love in this book. Despite a few minor flaws, this book is a true masterpiece of the genre, and it is one that any serious reader of fantasy should not miss.
