A diary is a book in which people record their thoughts, activities, and wishes. Many people choose to stick to writing about the most significant events that happen in their lives on a daily basis. Inca also picked up that habit, and this book, titled Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula, is her diary. In it, she told us how she went to South Korea because her mother was invited to be a judge in a cooking competition there. While in South Korea, she found out that someone needed rescuing. If she chose to take on that mission, that would mean crossing the border into North Korea. The problem was that she had neither the papers nor the authorization to enter North Korea. Another problem was that Inca was a cat. How will a cat get the documents she needs for her mission? Find out for yourself by reading this book titled Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula.

Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula is a book that shows us what it is like to be separated from the one you love. I have always thought that sadness due to separation is just a human emotion. Fortunately, R.F. Kristi showed me that animals, too, can feel that loss. The pain Baram felt when she was away from Bo-Mi was as real as any emotion. This book taught me many life lessons, and I love that. It taught me the importance of having friends who will always have my back. It also taught me about the war between South Korea and North Korea. It showed me the consequences of that war and the pain people on both sides felt. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula opened my eyes to the reality of millions of people today.

I must mention that R.F. Kristi included pictures in the book. These pictures gave me a good idea of what Inca, her family, and her friends looked like. I also got to see South Korea through her eyes. I have not been to that country, but the pictures in the book showed me that it is beautiful. Apart from the images, I liked how Inca explained what she did and saw in her diary. The explanations were humorous. I always had a bright moment reading Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula. The funny description is what I like most in Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula.

I want you to know that I disliked nothing about Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula. It is essential for me to say this because I want everybody to have the right idea of what I think about this book. It was professionally edited. It taught me a lot about Korea and animals. I cannot think of any negative comment to make about it. Thus, I give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

Young readers aged four to ten that adore cats and dogs will love Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula. I recommend this to them because it will teach them about Korean history. It will also teach them that animals can feel pain like humans do. In other words, young pet lovers (to whom I recommend this book) will learn to value and love pets more than they already do.
