We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz tells about the life of Galen Bray from the land of the Princes. Galen moves from the land of the Princes to Voulhire to inherit his uncle's blacksmith business. The business was located in Magnum Caelum. He meets Rowan, his father's executor. Rowan promises to support him. Will he survive in the land of Voulhire? The land of the Princes was full of greed and poverty while the land of Voulhire was full of prosperity and opportunities. Will the kingdom of Voulhire continue thriving after the kingdom of Riva Rohavi builds up and strengthens its force? The town of Hillport is facing a lot of challenges due to the change of Lords. This makes the king send Lord Eldus to assist change the situation. Will Lord Eldus succeed?

The book is the first book in a series of 9 books. It tells us of the social, political, economic, and cultural aspects of the kingdom. It addresses war, leadership, mystery, and investigation.

I like the way the author has used a map in the book. It
helps us have an image of where the city is located. The plot of the book is captivating. The introduction of the plot is very good. One event leads to the other and therefore, there's no confusion. I looked forward to reading the next book in this series. The book has well-described scenes and this creates a clear picture of the land of Voulhire. The imagery it brings to the reader's mind is exemplary. The characters are unique and interesting. I liked Rowan the most because he was kind to Galen. I like the way the author uses suspense in the book. The words described at the end of the book make it more exciting to read.

At some point, I disliked the description of violent scenes in the book. Some words used were also hard and this made me refer to my dictionary often. The book also has a lot of profanity and mild sexual content. This makes me recommend it to a mature audience. However, this did not affect my rating of the book since I found no grammatical errors or typos in it. I, therefore rate the book 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend the book to lovers of fictional stories. Those who love fantasy and magic can also read it. It has disturbing violent scenes and therefore, I would not recommend it to anyone sensitive to this.
