[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, written by Matthew Tysz. The protracted civil war has torn apart the monarchy of the Lands of the Princes. Galen Bray considers it to be his home, yet it is not a joyful place. Galen is so overjoyed to find that he is the only heir of his dying uncle, who long ago immigrated to the Kingdom of Voulhire. Galen boards the first ship that will transport him to his place of residence. His only goal is to take over his uncle's blacksmith shop, master the trade, and live a quiet life away from all the political unrest.
Rowan's humor in this novel was what first attracted my interest and ultimately turned out to be the aspect I appreciated the most. I appreciated how much information I learned about Voulhire, its inhabitants, and its culture. It takes a lot of effort on the part of the author to create a work of fiction that readers will be overjoyed to read. By depicting how life is in our society, this book still manages to offer its main character their own distinctive characteristics. The author's thought process is truly impressive. I loved reading this fascinating book. The books contain a lot of paranormal aspects and amazing locales. Furthermore, the author took the necessary time to meticulously create each of his characters, and as a result, the book is full of stunning, endearing, and intriguing personalities.
There was nothing that I disliked about the book; it was insightful and interesting, although the beginning of the novel was slow. However, the author was able to maintain my interest throughout the entire book. I had fun reading this book. As the first book in the series, the author did an excellent job of introducing us to the regular settings and jargon that would be used going forward should we read the other works in this series. The first page of the book contains a thorough map of Voulhire. A website with more details on Voulhire is also included in the book. For quick reference to vocabulary that may be unfamiliar to us, a glossary is included at the end of the book.
I am rating this book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, 5 out of 5 stars because it was fascinating and well-structured. There were no grammatical errors or mistakes in it. Therefore, it was exceptionally well edited.
I recommend this book to readers who love fantasy novels.
